Whether you grew up around the hustle and bustle of New York City or whether you were born in a village deep in West Africa, football can be the connective tissue that transcends the barriers of age, language, gender or background.
For us, football has been a catalyst for life. From learning the fundamentals of respect and hard work at a young age to forging lifelong friendships, it has given us access to education, people, and careers we could not have ever imagined.
As we navigate the challenges and uncertainty of COVID-19, a global pandemic, it has shed light on how fragile and unprepared the human race can be. It’s given everyone a chance to think about the things that matter most - from health to education and the importance of sticking together as one, united front. While this global journey is just beginning, we must start to think about what a post COVID-19 world will look like and how we plan to rebuild the communities that have been impacted the most.
The Global F.C. came to fruition with this in mind. While the concept has been in the works for many months, now felt like the right time to begin the rebuilding process and give back to the game that has given us so much. We’ve placed ourselves at the intersection of football, community, and culture, to provide a unique perspective on why this game has become the world’s most popular sport and how it can be a catalyst for change in the classroom, on the field, and in life. Whether you’re a new fan, seasoned veteran, or somewhere in between, we are brothers, sisters, friends and foes who have come together to break down barriers, build relationships, and spread the love.
Peace & Love,
The Global Football Culture
